Wi-Fi Security
Security On-Demand’s Wi-Fi Security On-Demand service breaks the mold for wi-fi security monitoring, compliance reporting, and performance management. Our service provides continuous, stateful analysis of all wireless channels, devices, traffic and RF spectrum to proactively identify all possible wireless threats, including hundreds of vulnerabilities that get missed by the inadequate security found in access points, which typically “bolt on” security as an afterthought.
Why Should Wireless be Monitored?
Security and performance are two primary reasons why wireless systems need to be actively monitored. Many organizations today are still stuck in the mindset of “set and forget” when it comes to security technology. It’s unfortunate, but many of the high profile security breaches that have occurred over the past few years have involved the exploitation of wi-fi security vulnerabilities. In addition, many wireless solutions such as Cisco and Aruba, even with their security module “add-ons” don’t provide the full set of security protections products that are needed to protect the network from wireless threats. Many organizations today are further integrating wireless infrastructure and thus increasing their dependence upon it. As 802.11n is rolled out and put into production, there will be increased requirements to proactively ensure that service availability and performance is not impacted. In order to ensure performance and wireless availability, organizations will need to proactively monitor the airspace for potential offenders, including mitigating a broader array of RF spectrum that can potentially interfere with service. Find Emerging Problems Before Users are Affected Our service tracks all devices, traffic and RF information to proactively identify evolving performance. This includes identifying the causes of traffic congestion, overloaded devices and channels. The solution also identifies a variety of device conflicts, such as 11b devices that may be slowing down faster b/g devices. Staff can see a roaming history for all end-users to identify devices that may be thrashing from AP to AP.
Wi-Fi Security Monitoring Service Capabilities Some of the key capabilities of Security On-Demand’s Wireless Security On-Demand include the following:
- Detect, locate, and isolate rogue Access Points, immediately
- All threats can be automatically traced, located, blocked and saved for forensic analysis.
- We deliver proactive performance analysis, spectrum and interference analysis
- Continuous monitoring of the entire wireless airspace (Full RF Spectrum)
- All events are correlated and scored by severity and impact for simple prioritization
- Our integrated reporting engine provides on-demand access to detailed internal and regulatory compliance reports.
- Protect laptops, phones and other mobile devices by enforcing policies with mobile clients that determine where they can connect to and when they can do it (Hot Spots, In-Office, Out of Office, etc.)
- Protect laptops from “bridging” the wireless network through to the wired network while connected into the corporate office LAN.
Our wireless security approach is unique in the wireless security service provider industry as we provide wireless intrusion monitoring as close to the ingress/egress points as possible, in real-time and always on-site. The end result is a proactive wireless monitoring service that help keep your WLAN safe from blind spots and operating smoothly to support your critical business applications.
Integrated Reporting & Compliance Reports
Wi-Fi Security On-Demand provides detailed compliance reports covering a variety of regulatory standards including Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, GLBA, DoD 8100.2, ISO 27001, BASEL II and CAD3. Reports provide a step-by-step pass/fail assessment of each section of the standard. As a result, IT staff can take the guess work out of compliance audits and complete their work in a fraction of the time.
Our Security Dashboard makes it easy to review professional customized reports for any location or date range. Reports cover all areas of management including RF statistics, device reports, security and performance reports. Reports can be scheduled to be run at regular intervals and delivered to key managers via email.
